Parents Story
This Saturday 18th September 2004, our Centre
is celebrating "getting together" by attending a morning at
a local park between 10.30am - 12.30pm.
Our volunteer parent management committee are
arranging to provide sausages in bread and vegie burgers for all adults
and children and families provide anything else they may want for the
morning. We have also arranged for a childrens entertainer to attend for
an hour during the get together.
We are expecting in excess of 75 people for
the morning and late RSVP'S are still leaking in.
It all began with an idea to provide an informal
get together during the year for families and staff to get to know each
other better, with an opportunity for the children to have a different
kind of fun to the one they know within our Centre, on a day they can
share with their own family members. All our permanent staff members have
willingly expressed their committment to be there.
The Centre is now a-hum with the forthcoming
event and parents are visibly eager to attend as are the children. My
feeling is one of overwhelming sense of community and goodwill.
I feel very proud to be a part of such a warm
and positive community that is our small community based Centre and the
people within it are fundamental to creating that feeling. Everyone is
happy to pitch in and I know Saturday will be a special experience for
everyone.
