Media Capability Statement

Community Child Care Association (CCC) works to support the provision of quality, affordable, community owned family and children's services (long day care, kindergarten, pre-school, occasional care, outside school hours care (OSHC), family day care, Multifunctional Aboriginal Children's services (MACS)).

CCC is an independent non-profit organisation that operates as a training, resource, advisory and advocacy body.

CCC works to ensure that children and families have access to quality children's services which meet their individual needs. CCC believes non-profit community owned services provide a benchmark for quality children's services.

CCC is also the peak body for not-for-profit community owned children's services including centre-based long day care and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) in Victoria. CCC receives government funding to coordinate training, resources and support to all approved Long Day Care, occasional care, family day care, MACS and OSHC services in receipt of Child Care Benefit throughout Victoria.

For media there is no better-placed organization than CCC to comment on:

  • Local, state and federal government policy in relation to child care
  • Privatisation, corporatisation & business models
  • Community building
  • Community owned and managed services
  • Affordability and funding issues for children's services
  • Planning, shortages and market failure

CCC can provide case studies and talent for interviews or background information; we can also provide contact with members of CCC in your local area.
