Submission: Response to the National Child Safety Review Consultation Regulation Impact Statement

Child Safety Review

The CCC and CELA submission was provided on the 11th June 2025 in response to Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (C-RIS). At the request of the Australian Government, ACECQA had put forward regulatory and non-regulatory options to improve child safety about:

  • Service waivers for the design of premises to facilitate supervision of children
  • Assessment of family day care residences
  • Powers of entry to family day care residences
  • Working with children checks
  • Inappropriate conduct including by individuals
  • Child safety training
  • Management of devices
  • Enforcement options
  • Information sharing.

All stakeholders – including approved providers and service leaders, educators, staff, volunteers and families, parents, carers (and their children) – were invited to provide feedback to governments on policy options. Deloitte was commissioned to undertake the evaluation of all feedback and provide a Summative Report to the Australian Government Department of Education.
